Phillies to host pep rally Wednesday

Phillies to host pep rally Wednesday

The Phillies will host a noon ET pep rally on Wednesday to kick off the 2010 season, the club announced on Tuesday.

Sponsored by Citizens Bank, the event will be held outside the Citizens Bank branch at 15th and Market streets. Fans will receive giveaway Phillies posters, rally towels and pocket schedules.

In addition, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony that will unveil the new Phillie Phanatic statue called "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow." The statue is one of 20 that will be located around Philadelphia as part of the Phanatic Around Town public-art project.

Fans will be allowed to take photos with the real Phanatic, too. Phillies broadcasters Scott Franzke, Citizens Bank Ballpark Bankers and Phillies Ballgirls will also be on hand.
