Victorino may not play in spring opener

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- As the Phillies worked on outfield drills Monday morning at the Carpenter Complex, center fielder Shane Victorino stood to the side and watched.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said that Victorino has been experiencing some shoulder soreness, and is not sure if he will play Wednesday in a 7:05 p.m. ET exhibition game against Florida State at Bright House Field.

"We didn't want him throwing in our drills," Manuel said. "We want him to take it easy a few days. He'll be all right."

Victorino did taking batting practice.
