Adams pitched in a big league game for the first time since having surgery July 31. He threw a perfect inning with two groundball outs on a night when the Rockies beat up the rest of the Phillies pitching staff for 12 runs. The Phillies plan to ease in Adams slowly until he shows he is capable of returning to a late-inning role.
"It went great from an individual standpoint," Adams said. "I was completely happy with yesterday. I felt great. I feel good today. Everything is going the way I hoped. [The comeback] could have never happened. It could have never come around. Luckily everything has worked out the way it has. It has gone above and beyond the way I would have ever expected. Hopefully everything continues going along the same path."
