On Wednesday, March 5, the Philadelphia Phillies will join the Atlanta Braves to honor baseball great Jim Fregosi, who passed away last week at the age of 71. The tribute to Fregosi will take place at Bright House Field, prior to that day's 1:05 p.m. Phillies-Braves game.

"Jim Fregosi, who spent 53 years in the game, was one of the most respected men in baseball," said Larry Shenk, Phillies Vice President, Alumni Relations. "We invite fans to join us on March 5 as we celebrate Jim's legacy."

Fregosi played for four different major league teams and managed four, including the Phillies (1991-96). In addition, Fregosi had been an assistant to the general manager of the Braves the past 13 seasons.
