PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies and left-hander Antonio Bastardo avoided salary arbitration Tuesday when they agreed to a one-year, $2 million deal.

The pair exchanged figures last week, with Bastardo requesting $2.5 million and the Phils offering $1,675,000 million.

Bastardo, 28, went 3-2 with a 2.32 ERA in 48 appearances last season before serving a 50-game suspension for violating the game's performance-enhancing drug policy.

The Phillies recently avoided arbitration when they agreed to deals with right-hander Kyle Kendrick and outfielder John Mayberry Jr. They are still trying to work out an agreement with center fielder Ben Revere. He is requesting $2,425,000 million, while the Phils are offering $1.4 million. If a deal with Revere is not struck, they will head to an arbitration hearing next month.
