PITTSBURGH -- Some of the Phillies' walking wounded are making progress, according to general manager Ruben Amaro Jr.

Catcher Erik Kratz (torn medial meniscus in left knee) went on the 15-day disabled list June 9. He had surgery June 12, and he is out until late July or early August. Left-hander Jeremy Horst (left elbow sprain) went on the 15-day DL retroactive to June 16. The time frame for his return was uncertain, and right-hander Michael Stutes (right biceps tendinitis) went on the 15-day DL on June 23.

"Kratz is catching bullpens and started a running program," Amaro Jr. said. "He's going to be closer to four weeks than six weeks. Not sure when we'll get him into games; he'll be seen when we get back.

"Horst is throwing and doing fine. Stutes is not throwing quite yet, but he's feeling a little better every day. He still has some soreness in the shoulder."
