PHILADELPHIA -- Outfielder Delmon Young, rehabbing from microfracture surgery on his right ankle, continues to play extended spring training games in Clearwater, Fla.

"He's progressing," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. insisted. He said Young was scheduled to play seven innings in the outfield Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

"Then we'll decide when he's going to go out on a real rehab assignment," Amaro said. "He's not ready to be here yet. When he's ready to be here, he'll be here."

Asked how Young has looked in right field, a position he has not played in seven years, Amaro said, "He's moving around pretty good. So far he's done well. He hasn't misplayed any balls or anything like that. I don't know if he's going to be a Gold Glover out there, but he needs to be at least adequate. So far he hasn't done anything to dissuade us."
