BRADENTON, Fla. -- Michael Young went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and John Lannan allowed one hit in three shutout innings Monday as the Phillies downed the Pirates, 5-0, in Grapefruit League play.

Starter A.J. Burnett, the Bucs' Opening Day starter, couldn't get out of a four-run second inning in which he hit a batter, allowed three hits and issued two walks, both with the bases loaded.

Lannan allowed only a two-out double in the first to Travis Snider in going three innings for the first time. He issued two walks without a strikeout, and was aided by a pair of double plays on the hardest-hit balls off him.

The shutdown pitching for the Phillies (5-5-1) continued after Lannan, with Mike Adams working a perfect fourth and Adam Morgan holding the Pirates (3-7) hitless for three innings.

Making his final Grapefruit League appearance in relief prior to leaving camp to join the Dominican Republic's World Baseball Classic team, Wandy Rodriguez held Philadelphia to two hits and an unearned run in three innings.

For the second time in five games, Pirates pitchers issued three walks with the bases loaded in one inning. They had done so last Thursday against Boston in a game which featured a total of 15 walks.

The lead culprit this time was Burnett. He began the second by hitting Darin Ruf with a pitch, and ended his outing with RBI walks of Humberto Quintero and Ben Revere and Young's single for a run. Left-hander Kris Johnson came on and also walked the first man he faced, Chase Utley, to force in another run and make it 4-0.

Up next: The Phillies host the Dominican Republic at 1:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Bright House Field. Left-hander Cole Hamels and right-handers Jonathan Papelbon, Ethan Martin and Jonathan Pettibone are scheduled to pitch.
