WASHINGTON -- Phillies right-hander Tyson Brummett made his big league debut in the eighth inning Wednesday.
It was the eighth time this season a player made his big league debut with the Phillies.
The others included infielder Freddy Galvis; left-hander Jake Diekman; right-handers Phillippe Aumont, Tyler Cloyd and B.J. Rosenberg; catcher Steven Lerud, and outfielder Darin Ruf. The Elias Sports Bureau said it is the most big league debuts in one season for the Phillies since they had 15 in 1996.
Brummett allowed two hits and struck out two in two-thirds of an inning.
"I was way nervous getting out there," he said. "After those first guys, I kind of settled down and got out of it."
