TORONTO -- Despite being expected to sit out the remainder of the Phillies' weekend series, Carlos Ruiz was back in the lineup for Sunday's game against Toronto.
The Phillies' starting backstop was forced to leave Friday's contest in the sixth inning with an oblique strain. Ruiz hurt himself while striking out in his last at-bat in that game.
After receiving treatment on Saturday, Ruiz felt he could play through the pain. He will still undergo further testing in Philadelphia on Monday by the team's medical staff.
