The Phillies activated right-hander Joe Blanton from the 60-day disabled list on Monday.
Out since May 23 with right elbow inflammation, this was the second time the 30-year-old went on the DL, retroactive to May 16. Blanton had also spent time on the DL from April 29-May 9 (retroactive to April 24) with a medial impingement in his right elbow.
Blanton, who made one rehab appearance with Class A Lakewood on Friday (one scoreless inning without allowing a baserunner), is 1-2 with a 5.50 ERA in six starts for first-place Philadelphia.
The Phillies also reinstated right-hander Kyle Kendrick from the paternity leave list after Kendrick and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter, over the weekend.
