Ruiz helps winter club reach league finals

Catcher Carlos Ruiz has been a standout performer for the Tigres del Licey, who went 12-6 in the semifinal playoff series and have advanced to the league finals against the Aguilas Cibaenas in the Dominican Winter League. Ruiz hit .309 in the series, with a home run and a team-leading 13 RBIs.
