NLCS # 4 at Houston: Phillies rallied for three in eighth, Astros tied in ninth, Phils won with two in 10th, 5-3; Greg Luzinski's pinch-hit double was GW RBI. Pete Rose bowled over Bruce Bochy to score the winning run.

NLDS # 5 at Vet: Steve Rogers pitched a six-hitter and drove in two runs as the Expos eliminated the Phillies, 3-0.

WS # 1 at Baltimore: Home runs by Joe Morgan and Garry Maddox gave John Denny and the Phillies a 2-1 win over the Orioles.

1993
NLCS # 5 at Atlanta: Lenny Dykstra's solo home run in the top of the 10th inning gave the Phillies a 4-3 win over the Braves. Leading 3-2, the series shifted to Veterans Stadium.

2009
NLDS # 3 at Denver: Ryan Howard's sacrifice fly in the ninth inning lifted the Phillies to a 6-5 win over the Rockies and a 2-1 lead in the Series.

WS # 5 at Boston: The Red Sox won their third straight 2-1 decision to take a 3-1 lead in the Series that shifted to Baker Bowl.

NLCS # 3 at Cincinnati: The Big Red Machine scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth and completed a sweep of the Phillies, 7-6.

1980
NLCS # 5 at Houston: Trailing, 5-2, the Phillies erupted for five eighth-inning runs against Nolan Ryan but the Astros scored two in their eighth to tie, 7-7. Following a scoreless ninth inning, the teams went into extra innings for the fourth consecutive game. Garry Maddox hit a game-winning RBI double in the 10th and then caught the final out in a wild 8-7 game. Phillies headed for the World Series for the first time since 1950.

1983
WS # 2 at Baltimore: Charles Hudson retired 12 of the first 13 batters but the Orioles scored three times in the fifth inning for a 3-1 win that sent the Series north on I-95 to Veterans Stadium.

2008
NLCS # 3 at Los Angeles: The Dodgers scored six early runs and beat the Phillies, 7-2, to narrow the Series to 2-1.

2009
NLDS # 4 at Denver: Trailing, 4-2, after eight innings, Ryan Howard doubled in two runs and Jayson Werth singled in Howard with the winning run as the Phillies beat the Rockies, 5-4, to advance to the NLCS for the second straight year.

WS # 5 at Baker Bowl: Harry Hoover hit two homers and the Red Sox won their third World Series with their fourth straight one-run decision, 5-4. Red Sox pitchers had complete games in each of the five games.

1993
NLCS # 6 at Vet: Mitch Williams struck out Bill Pecota for the final out in a 6-3 win that propelled the Phillies to their third World Series in 13 years. Darren Daulton, Dave Hollins and Mickey Morandini had two-run base hits.

2008
NLCS # 4 at Los Angeles: Trailing, 5-3, in the eighth inning, Shane Victorino hit a two-run homer and five batters later, Matt Stairs followed with a pinch-hit, game-winning two-run homer that gave the Phillies a 7-5 win and 3-1 lead in the Series.

WS # 1 at Vet: Bake McBride hit a three-run homer in a five-run third inning that paved the way for a 7-6 Phillies win over the Royals. Tug McGraw struck out Willie Wilson to end the game.

1983
WS # 3 at Vet: The Orioles came back from a 2-0 deficit after five innings to post a 3-2 win over the Phillies.

October 15
1980
WS # 2 at Vet: RBI singles by Del Unser, Bake McBride, Mike Schmidt and Keith Moreland in the eighth inning lifted the Phillies to a 6-4 win over the Royals for a 2-0 lead in the Series. Ron Reed struck out John Wathan to end the game.

1983
WS # 4 at Vet: Trailing, 3-2, after five innings, the Orioles scored two in the sixth inning that carried them to a 5-4 win over the Phillies.

2008
NLCS # 5 at Los Angeles: Jimmy Rollins set the tone with a lead-off home run as the Phillies clinched their sixth National League pennant with a 5-1 over the Dodgers. Cole Hamels turned in a strong performance and was named the NLCS MVP.

2009
NLCS # 1 at Los Angeles: A year ago the Phillies won the NL pennant at Dodger Stadium on this date. This time, the Phillies took a 1-0 lead with an 8-6 win over the Dodgers. Carlos Ruiz and Raul Ibanez hit three-run homers.

1983
WS # 5 at Vet: Eddie Murray hit two home runs and Scott McGregor tossed a five-hitter as the Orioles won the World Series with a 5-0 win over the Phillies.

1993
WS # 1 at Toronto: The Blue Jays won the opener, 8-5, over the Phillies with Devon White and John Olerud hitting home runs.

2009
NLCS # 2 at Los Angeles: Scoring twice in the bottom of the eighth, the Dodgers evened the Series with a 2-1 win over the Phillies. Pedro Martinez started for the Phillies, seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball.

WS # 3 at Kansas City: Willie Aikens' walk-off single in the last of the 10th gave the Royals their first WS win, 4-3, over the Phillies.

1993
WS # 2 at Toronto: Jim Eisenreich and Lenny Dykstra homered to lead the Phillies over the Blue Jays, 6-4, sending the Series to Veterans Stadium.
