PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino was ejected in the sixth inning Sunday during a 7-6 victory over the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park.
Victorino appeared to check his swing during his at-bat, but third-base umpire Angel Hernandez said Victorino swung. Victorino spiked his helmet and bat into the turf, and Hernandez immediately ejected him.
"He said, 'He almost had a full swing,'" Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Hernandez told him. "I asked him which game was he watching."
