BOSTON -- Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton finds himself in familiar territory.
He is 1-4 with a 6.07 ERA through seven starts this season, which has been disconcerting for Phillies fans. But Blanton, who pitches Saturday afternoon against the Red Sox at Fenway Park, went 2-3 with a 7.11 ERA through eight starts last season before he went 10-5 with a 3.16 ERA in 23 starts to finish the season.
"We had a good talk the other day," Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee said. "He's kind of fallen in love with the cutter too much. I think it's taken away from his sinker, his curveball and his changeup. Right now he's just gotten too cutter-happy. We'll see."
