ATLANTA -- Jayson Werth is in a funk, but not an unfamiliar one.
"I've been here before," he said.
Werth did not start Monday against the Braves at Turner Field, the second game in three days he has not started because he is hitless in his past 19 at-bats.
Could the days off get him back to neutral?
"I would hope," he said.
Werth is frustrated, but not panicked. Like he said, he has been here before. He had career-high hitless streaks of 21 at-bats in 2005 and '09. He also had 16-at-bat and 15-at-bat hitless streaks last season. Werth always has been a streaky hitter, and he figures this is just another one of those streaks.
"The problem is, when you're playing every day, it comes in bunches," he said.
