Happ out 'awhile,' but Rollins progressing

NEW YORK -- Injured Phillies left-hander J.A. Happ is continuing his rehab in Clearwater, Fla., with teammates Ryan Madson and Jimmy Rollins, who also are recovering from injuries.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Wednesday that Happ, who has a left forearm injury, could throw to hitters late this week or early next week. Because Happ has not pitched since April 15, he basically will be building up his arm strength from scratch. It should be weeks before he is ready to rejoin the rotation.

"It'll take him a while," Amaro said.

Amaro said Rollins, who is on the disabled list with a strained right calf, could be activated June 6 against San Diego, the first day he is eligible to play.
